The Global Action Plan includes six objectives and multilevel actions for Member States, the WHO Secretariat, and international partners to support implementation of prevention and control of Non-communicable Diseases (NCDs) at country level, in line with the Political Declaration of the UN High-Level Meeting of September 2011 that called upon WHO to develop a comprehensive global monitoring framework for assessing progress in the implementation of national strategies for the four main NCDs (Cardio-vascular diseases, diabetes, cancer, and chronic lung diseases).
