The rapid growth of mobile telephony has encouraged developing countries to apply mobile telephony in solving wide-ranging challenges in the health sector. mHealth, the use of mobile communication devices for health services and information, is a rapidly growing area of practice and research. Health systems in developing countries, which are often already constrained by resources, have benefited from mHealth through increased access to healthcare and health-related information, especially for the hard-to-reach population.
