Strategic Plan for the Prevention and Control of Non-Communicable Diseases 2013-17

National Department of Health, South Africa, April 2013

80 pp. 1.2 MB:

Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) are the leading causes of mortality globally, causing more deaths than all other causes combined, and they strike hardest at the world’s low and middle-income populations. The NCD epidemic can be prevented through reduction of the underlying risk factors, early detection and timely treatments. A detailed plan for achieving the targets set at the South African Summit on Prevention and Control of NCDs with objectives, indicators, activities and time frames is set out in this document.
