This integration program guide focuses on the integration of FP within the provision of antiretroviral therapy (ART) services, capturing how the field of ART management has evolved as well as renewing a focus on reproductive rights. Several studies have furthered the case that integration of FP into specific HIV services is feasible, acceptable, and effective. The objective is to offer a service to a client who may be in need of additional service(s) – in this case, FP – to facilitate the uptake of contraception by HIV-positive individuals, helping to maintain their health, plan safer pregnancies, and reduce the rate of mother-to-child transmission of HIV.
