The sustainable development goals (SDGs) and targets in the outcome document agreed by UN Member States include seven targets which explicitly refer to persons with disabilities. UN Member States indicated that indicators must directly respond to the goals and targets and their level of ambition; must not undermine or re-interpret the targets; and must cover all targets and give equal weight to all targets. Therefore, the targets which explicitly refer to disability must include disability related indicators.
