D.A. Henderson, the former dean of Bloomberg School of Public Health credited with eradicating smallpox, died Friday, 19.08.2016 at Gilchrist Hospice in Towson, USA of complications after a hip fracture. He was 87. He was best known for his work in the 1960s and ´70s, when he led the fight against smallpox, an infectious disease that was one of the world´s greatest killers until the vaccination campaign.
