The objective of this paper is to provide an overview of the contribution of insurance to specific Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)and their targets. The list of all seventeen SDGs forms the basis of the assessment. These were examined to identify which goals could significantly benefit from insurance as a risk protection mechanism to support their achievement. Furthermore, concrete examples of approaches to using insurance to contribute to specific SDGs and the development results achieved are provided.
