Pharmaceutical companies have a long way to go to combat antimicrobial resistance, but a new ranking aims to hold them accountable. The Benchmark found that nine of the 19 companies reporting such efforts are running or supporting 19 AMR surveillance programmes across 147 countries. Created by the Amsterdam-based Access to Medicine Foundation, the report unveiled at the World Economic Forum in Davos credits GlaxoSmithKline with doing the most to combat the crisis, followed by Johnson & Johnson.
