The Global Health Investment Fund (GHIF) is a US$ 108 million social impact investment fund designed to provide financing to advance the development of drugs, vaccines, diagnostics and other interventions against diseases that disproportionately burden low- and middle-income countries. It is unique in that it is the world’s only social impact fund that addresses the pressing global health problems of neglected diseases whilst generating sustainable financial returns. Five years after it was first established the Fund has a successful portfolio of investments that prove that it is possible to do both.
